We are excited to share a screening of the film “A Womb of Their Own” this week during Transgender Awareness Week!
This film is described as:
”When six diverse masculine-identified people get pregnant, they are challenged by binary gender constructs in mainstream culture, and even in the LGBTQ community. Follow their radical, joyful stories of establishing their own unique gender and sexuality, growing a baby in their bodies, and birthing, chestfeeding and parenting their children.”
Details for viewing the film and registration info can be found at our eventbrite. The film will be available for viewing on your own through vimeo from 5:30pm EST on November 17th-5:30pm EST on November 18th. (This method is recommended by the production team to avoid choppiness/tech difficulties over zoom.) Or you may choose to view it in community with us on zoom starting at 5:30pm EST on November 18th.
We will be coming together for a zoom Q&A following the film viewing at 7pm on November 18th with the creator Cyn Lubow and midwife Ray Rachlin. We welcome your presence and questions!
We look forward to learning more with you about the experiences of non-binary and trans folks during pregnancy, birth, and parenting as we work to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all birthing people.
